Halloween 2011

This year I had a pirate and a fairy princess! It is so much fun thinking about costumes and dressing them up!!

Every year we go over to my husband's parents' house where we all take a soup or finger food and just eat and watch all of the trick-or-treaters. The kids are at the age where they like to hand out the candy as well. My in-laws have about 300 trick-or-treaters each year, so we all take turns passing it out! We enjoy looking at all the cute costumes.....and sometimes wonder if what they are wearing is a costume or not. :/ I really wish that the pre-teen and teenage girls would not dress so provocatively for my daughter's innocent eyes to see, but that's a whole other post!

We had a fabulous time like we do every year!

Fall Fun Fest

Every year our church puts on a huge fall fun fest. Before I had children, I would help with the activities- face paintings, etc, but at this time in my life, I want to be with my kids as they are making memories.

G and B had the best time on the bounce houses and eating sno cones. Good times!

Zoo

Who doesn't love the zoo?! We try to go every year, either in the Spring or Fall. About an hour after we left our house for the zoo it started sprinkling. We kept driving hoping that by the time we were finished with lunch, the rain will have stopped. Thank God it did because we would have had two disappointed kiddos! (And parents!)
This year we went the weekend before Halloween so everything was set up for Boo at the Zoo. We went right after lunch to avoid all the people and we were out of there before Boo at the Zoo began. It was wonderful.

The last time we went to the zoo, B was still in a stroller and didn't get as excited about the animals as he did this time around. When an animal would come out of hiding, he would point at it and say "there ya are!"
We were almost on the way out of the park, last stop was the monkeys, gorillas, chimps, and orangutans. What maniacs! We were looking at the monkeys when we heard a huge bang. There was a mad orangutan in the yard next to him. He rammed himself into the metal door where the zookeepers come in to feed, etc. Then he began throwing sticks up at us. Eeeek. Time to go!
What a fun Saturday!
